Mike went down this evening. I just got off the phone with him. He is banged up some, shoulder and hip, cuts and I am sure bruises. He was on his way back to the hospital to get checked out some more.

He will have better details, but looks like he was on 98, a truck pulled into his lane and rear ended a car in front of it. Left no time for him to stop, so he put the bike down when he knew he was gonna hit. He got it down to about 25.

Figured I would put this up so everyone could pass on their well wishing and such.

With all love and respect, he had that wide eyed look of someone that had just had the sh*t scared out of him, and was talking a blue streak...about 10 miles a minute....and with good reason....

98, wet, during rush hour IS NOT the place to lay down a bike.

April was already there when I got there....I almost caused my OWN accident throwing a 180 on 98 once I realized who it was -

Like I said...he's a touch banged up (don't read that f***ed up, just banged) a little road rash.

Mike's a smart kid...wears his bucket and usually some form of leather. I promise you his bike's more jacked up than he is. I don't think he's broken anything.

His tank looks JUST like mine did, and the shift linkage is jacked up. HRC sent a damn TOW TRUCK, which kinda pissed me off...they sent a dude w/ an enclosed trailer last time I needed them....I offered to ride it home (we live like...5 minutes apart) but the shift linkage was jacked and hard to ride...

All in all, our boy got lucky. He's a smart rider, watches around himself and saved his own life. Some dorkass comin' outta Abby's who had to get home like to took his ass out...but it didn't happen -

 :( :( :(

Sorry to hear the news, Mike. Hope you heal quickly and well. I've been down twice and just the shock to the body was enough to make a big hurt for a while. Hope you heal faster than I do,

Mike,
Sorry to hear about the accident. but damn glad your O.K. The bike can be fixed, but good friends are hard to replace. If theres anything I can do, don't hesitate to ask. Please keep us updated.

Thanks for all the well wishes yall. I'm going to be ok. My shoulder is jacked up but nothing is broke. Hopefully, I didn't do any damage to my rotator cuff or tendons. I will take some pics of my scoot soon. It's not too bad, it could have been a lot worse if I would have rode it out and ate the tailgate of the truck in front of me. I had about 6 car length between me and the van in front of me but, when that truck pulled in there and slammed the van it closed up real quick. The witnessed said I couldn't been any further back, you know how 98 is. As soon as you slow down someone jumps in there. At first I was questioning my decision to lay it down, but they all said if I wouldn't have I would have definitely hit the truck. I made a split second decision to put it down while there was plenty of room to slide. Luckily I slowed it down enough that there wasn't much sliding though.

Thanks again for all the kind words. I can't type much more right now, it's pretty tuff with one good arm.

Mike
