My bags hid my helmet lock, so today I removed the lock. Now the problem..........where is a good place to locate. Any suggestions?

After I replaced my horn with a stebel horn I used the the mount for the old horn. This way the fork lock and helmet lock are are inches away from each other.

Some people have relocated them to the license plate area.

Here what I did real simple and can go back to stock real easy. The relectorcomes off with one bolt

Well I can see your problem, I use a piece of chain dog collar for an extension(i have a half helmet), but to tell you the truth I rarely use it unless Im someplace I dont feel comfortable living it just hanging on the bike. If you have highway bars some have mounted it there it looks good but I didnt want to drill the bars.. Good luck

How does the darn thing come off? Feels like one small nut holding it but don't know size. Any tips on how to easily get to it, or does the rear wheel have to be off?

You have to use a small set of visegrips or something like that and unscrew it.

Why move the lock? even with saddle bags if you buy an extension it is fine. They are $5-$10.

I used a needle nose vise grip and once it loosened up it came right off.

Are those Hondaline saddlebags on your bike? The mounting bars on mine had a place in front of the left saddlebag for the helmet lock.
