Is there a "how-to" somewhere? I don't want to break anything by trying to remove the stock grips from my VTX :0 Thanks!

Grips

I have done this successfully several times, but I don't guarantee it.
1) Remove the controls and carefully hang them where they won't scratch your bike.

2) Insert a small flat head or pointed screwdriver carefully into the top side of the grip.

3) Lift the screwdriver slightly to create an opening and spray glass cleaner into the opening.

4) Remove the screwdriver and work the grip back and forth, pulling the grip toward and away from the handlebar, allowing the glass cleaner to break up the grip glue (you may have to do step 3 a couple of times).

The grip will eventually come off, undamaged, and using glass cleaner as apposed to a lubricant will ensure you don't leave any unwanted residue when you put your new grips on. Just be careful not to break the chrome piece on your grip (though they seem to be pretty flexible). Like I said I have done this several times withouth damaging the grips, best of luck!

FYI
I didn't know this and didn't find out till I got frustrated and cut them off. The throttle side end cap has treads and must be screwed off. Had I known this, I may have been able to save my old ones.....oh well. I like the kukyain sp?
