Is there anyone that removes the trim on the VTX1300C tank?

And are reasonably priced.

I would be willing to ship it to them this winter or if they are close enough to swing by and drop it off.

Just wondering.

The tank trim is starting to bother me...but if no one does then I will learn to live with it.

Also, while we are on the topic of tanks, has anyone tried mounting a Harley Davidson tank Speedo in place of the VTX1300 stocker?

Are there any other tank speedo's that would just bolt on / direct swap of the stock speedo AND is metal instead of plastic?

I am determined to rid myself of most if not all the plastic parts on my 1300C...someday, someday.

Thanks, either way.

I will remove any tank trim (not tank seams) for only $99.95 + parts and labor, and I give a 100% satisfaction guarantee or half your money back.

Now if you mean tank SEAMS, look at the above reply.

Or just PUT ON TANK TRIM, and save the $$$$$$$$$$$$$

If you do want to add the tank trim; search it on the forum, or just go to AutoZone, get door edging, and figure out how to apply.

OK, correction...TANK SEAM.

I knew tank trim didn't sound right. Thanks.

DonVTXC,
From your pic, it looks like you have already removed your tank seam.

Looks really good.

Thanks again, for the correction.

Hey Ohio Bob, I don't know if you're aware of the process to do this mod but what is done is to fill the tank seam with some type of body filler giving it a more fluid look and the seam isn't actually removed it just looks like it was. Now, that being said I have a guy here in my area (Zanesville, OH) who does bodywork who is currently doing mine for a little less than 100.00 I am supposed to pick it up from him next weekend I will post pics when I get it back. Also, the one major drawback is the obvious need to repaint the tank. Hope this helps.

medic2598,
Please do keep me updated. I think $100 is not bad at all. Of course, repainting would not be pretty cheap, but I am sure we can find someone that would repaint it to the color of the fenders...mine would be easy, because it is stock solid black.

If you are in my area, let me know and we can hook up for a ride.

Thanks again.

God Bless & Ride Safe.

medic2598, I sent you an invoice for the HOK & PPG color books of mine you still have. On June 10th you said you would send them back ASAP, that was almost 4 weeks ago. If you'd like to keep the books then simply pay the invoice. Otherwise, please return them ASAP, as I have other VTXOA customers who's bikes I am painting, and they need those books for reference.
