Noticed the other day 1 front for is developing a brown stain just above the dust seal It is straw colored almost like the browning on the exhaust pipes Any ideas? Bike rides fine and it is only 1 piston

It could be a leak in the fork seals. To verify this, wipe it clean, then take it for a spin and hit a few bumps along the way. Then check it when you come back. If it's back, it's more than likely a leak in the seal. You could replace them yourself so you know it was done right, or you get someone else to replace it. You might as well do both at the same time, too.

Glenn must be smokin' or drinkin' something...it's too early in the day, Glenn... :p :D

Thanks for the help but's it's not a liguid stain in fact I can't even get it off with chrome polish I'm stumped

This may sound stupid but .....

What do you use to clean your wheels???

Some liquid wheel cleaners warn against cleaning motorcycle wheels ( mainly spoked ) because the chemical can react with some plating materials and turn the brown.

Again it may sound stupid, but its a possibility that some of the cleaner may have gotten there inadvertently.
