Just got a used 2003 1300R for my wife. It has Roadhouse slipons and each pipe has a rattle at midrange rpms. Seems to be coming from the chrome pieces that cover the attachments of the slipons to the original pipes. Each of them has a little play or movement in them and when I hold them still with my boot tip the rattle disappears. Not sure if they have to be loose like that or if there is a way to tighten them up. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks for the info,
Mark

There are short tabs inside the aft end of the mufflers that fit into C straps welded inside the bell housings. I had to remove the mufflers and use a screwdriver to bend the tabs so they fit tightly into the C straps, and that stopped the movement and rattling of the bell housings. It's a pretty crude setup, but you can get it to work with some fiddling.
