I work for Marysville P.D. and we just purchased a 2005 VTX1800N. It has been fully dressed for patrol use. I installed some hardbags and now need to find some saddlebag crash bars. Any thoughts as to what might work or who would make something for this?

I guess the first question I would ask in response to your query is what kind of saddlebags did you mount? Are they leather or hard bags such as those made by Leatherlyke or Corbin or even Tsukayu?

VTX Vixen from here on the board recently completed her R model based tourer and modified a set of saddlebag guards from the Honda Ace Tourer for use on the Retro. If your bags are similar then the same modified guards should work for you as the mounting points she used are the same on the Neo as there are on the Retro. I've attached a picture that Ashli posted of her bike below:
