Seeing someone sitting on my motorcycle in my own driveway.

Our neighbors are having their roof replaced. I woke up and went into the kitchen and noticed that three of the roofers were around my motorcycle with one sitting on it and taking pictures. I wasn't happy so I went outside and I told them I didn't want them on my bike. Turns out it was a Spanish speaking only crew. They just laughed and showed me the universal "taking pictures with a camera" and went back to work on my neighbor's roof.

Has anyone else had other people sit on their bikes without their permission? Do you think it's rude? To me it's akin to someone getting into my car and sitting there without my permission.

I see my wife, bike and vintage car all the same way; look all you want but don't touch. For me it's a matter of respect and even if it's a friends bike I always ask before touching.

Doesn't even have to be a vintage car, although anyone with half a clue understands those are special, but if ain't yours, don't touch it .... period! Look with your eyes, not your hands. I always liked this scene from SOA

Nobody but a motorcyclist I know and fully trust is allowed to sit on my bike, and as of this writing there isn't anyone that fits that bill. Sitting on a bike involves a risk of it falling over, or them swinging a leg over not high enough and scuffing/scratching the paint on my rear fender with a boot.

My bike is my work of art, so if the OP's scenario happened to me I'd be ensuring the guilty party was fully aware of my displeasure, up and to the point of making it the neighbors problem is his work crew didn't 'get it' and even if they did.

I was raised to respect others property to the extent I wouldn't dream of touching someone's valuables without asking. I recall my ex girlfriends teenage daughter grabbing my guitar and strumming on it, to which I responded by saying, "Who the hell gave you permission to touch my guitar?" She almost cried about it, but after a small lecture from me about respecting other people's property, I hoped she learned something. I let her play it after the lecture, but this is how I feel about my property, and the bigger concept of respecting others.

Simple enough. Don't watch that stuff you watch.

I had someone sit on my bike while I was in my neighborhood watering hole. The guy was harmless, hung around the area, was a bunch of cards short of a deck. Not knocking him, just explaining why he wasn't on the ground afterwood all bloody. All one has to do ask the owner, 9 times out of 10, they'll probably give the OK.

It happened to me. I just smile, show them My 9mm, and say the word "Federales!". They seemed to understand perfectly.

I would likely let them if they asked. That said, in this scenario, I would probably reach for a 2x4 as a translator regardless of what language they spoke.

I would talk to the neighbor. Contractors shouldn't be on your property in the first place and for sure not on your bike.

America better prepare for more of this type of behavior across the spectrum, a much more hazardous roadway and higher insurance premiums. We continue to be invaded by millions of people who can't speak let alone read english and yet somehow, still obtain drivers licenses. The building trades are a natural landing spot for these. They may think nothing about sitting on or F ing with your prized scooter or, any other property. Who knows, it just may be they admired your ride so much, that they'll be back for a second visit.

Regardless of right and wrong, what kind of a lil' bitch poser wants to take a picture on a bike that isn't theirs, and they probably couldn't ride to begin with?
It's just tasteless in my opinion. I would not be happy about that situation even if it were one of my bicycles being molested by a stranger without my permission. I'd have been livid. I'm getting fired-up just thinking about people in my driveway!

Several times found adults as well as children climbing on and or sitting on my bike... Immedatetly took out my phone and began taking pictures of the offending parties and when they asked why my reply would be to ID the parties for the police when i called them about damages to my bike... even followed them to their vehicle to get plate #....... Their attitudes changed in the blink of the eye........ Was especially worried about the the ones on my bike before the exhaust pipes had a chance to cool down........................
