First i have to say thanks to all. New to the board and have found a lot of valuable info on here. Heres my latest problem.

My 13c keeps blowing the seal out around the shifter shaft dumping my oil out. Makes it look like an H.D. with the oil running like that. Does anyone have an idea why it would do this and or a method of repair.
Thanks

Ps. still waiting to see bubbas 900 hp out of a 1300.

Your crankcase breather line is pinched....probably behind the airbox. Very common problem.....crankcase builds up pressure and blows the seal.

From the left side of the bike....take a look at the back of the Airbox. There are 2 hoses going to it. The skinnier of the two is the crankcase breather. You may have to take the airbox off and readjust.

if you have an after market air intake that doesnt have a hook up for the breather hose....raise the tank ...it will be the hose that comes from top of the front left jug and passes between the jugs. sometimes it gets kinked under the tank .

Smokey. Glad you noticed this before real trouble. There have been a couple of close calls and one major wreck with this seal blowing. All the oil will dump out once it blows and there goes the rear wheel traction. Never a good thing especially at hwy speeds.

Any time the air box is removed and replaced it can get kinked if not careful. Many have done it, myself included. Once you familiarize yourself with the vent hose make sure you can wiggle it from the opposite side. If not, it may be kinked.

I rigged mine with a piece of 5/16" brass tubing internally. It has kept mine from kinking any more. The free end of a small hose clamp would hook mine on replacement. Scroll down on this post. I posted some pics of my problem and fix. http://www.vtxoa.com/forums/viewtopic.p ... &start=100

Again, this can be a serious problem and should be addressed pronto. Good luck.
