I left on Thursday morning with a friend and we headed to the Smokies via the Interstate roads. We met a friend in Gatlinburg who rode from Greenville, SC. I had an awesome time. We did just a little riding Thursday evening but we did some great riding on Friday. We left from Gatlinburg went through the Smoky Mountain National Park to Cherokee, NC. From there we rode hwy 19 to Rbbinsville to the great Hwy 129. Having only ridden for a year now I was anxious. But I can't imagine a much geater ride. That is one wicked road. It was the first time on 129 for all three of us. I can't wait for the people taking pictures to post them on their websites so I can see myself in action. We did around 300 miles of riding that day. Saturday we took the two lane roads back to Louisville, making for an almost 400 mile day. All together we rode over 930 miles in three days. I know that may not be much to some of you guys but I was pretty proud of my accomplisment. Had a great time and would love to do it again. Also I got lots of compliments from the Harley guys on the X.

This is after the Dragon on 129 beside Chilhowee Lake:

Its a GREAT Ride!

A friend of mine rode down there years ago. He says there is a road down there somewhere that makes the dragon seem like a sunday drive.

He can't remember exactly where it is. I'd like to find it.

Congrats on riding and conquering the Dragon! I rode it for the first time 2 weeks ago and I'll tell you I was a little apprehensive before I did it. Other than a few crotch rockets buzzing past me at lightspeed it wasn't too bad. I had heard that you really need to watch the guys coming from the other direction as a lot of the sb's like to hug the yellow line. I just got my pictures a couple of days ago....AWESOME!

BEAUTIFUL country up there!! We're going back next year!!

i think your friend is talking about hwy 32 when in gattlinburg take 321 towards cosby go about 20 or 25 miles take a right on 32 when you see a sighn that shows curves for next 7 miles hang on the dragon aint shit after the curves you hit the north carolina state line you have to turn around or the road becomes gravel

some friends and i road it for the 1st time last week and it was 1st and 2nd gear all the way and wat too much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jason let me know when you want to go back. Your old wheels are on and I'm ready to put some miles on them. The wife even admitted they look pretty good. A buddy of mine went down a week or so ago he got some great video riding the dragon. Give me a ring when you have some time to go ridin.

I got the chance for the first time to slay the dragon on Monday the 9th. Was an awesome ride. But for me, I did what they call the loop, and the Skyway was much nicer. I enjoyed the run on the dragon, that was fun, but I really enjoyed the scenery that went along with the skyway. You could pull over and just take it all in. Great ride. And for another one, there is a place in N. GA called blood mountain, I have heard a lot of tails from the locals there about it and how it likes bikes and bikers (to eat that is). They say a lot of crotch rockets get taken out there every year. Anyone else ever heard of it?
