I'm this close to buying a 2003 1300 from this guy. But I noticed the fromt signals are mounted on the underside of a light bar and they're loose.

I presume they are supposed to be snugged up to the bar but they wriggle around too much. Anyone familiar with a light bar that uses the stock signals this way? I couldn't see how to tighten them up. Can anyone tell me how to go about tightening these? The seller doesn't seem to know (he bought it with the light bar already on).

Really? These move around a lot. As I test drove it, they were getting pushed around by the wind. Not too impressive looking to me. I did see the rubber spacer so I bet it's the Honda bar.

Thanks.

if those are the honda factory turn signals they have probably come loose from the rubber and need to be pushed back in place

Thanks. I'll have to look again. If you don't mind my asking, what do you think is a fair price for a 2003 VTX 1300R, 14,000 miles, windshield, light bar (obviously), Honda leather bags-but one has the buckle ripped off. One slight scrape on the edge of the front fender, otherwise excellent cond. Oh, Honda sissy bar too. All else is stock.

I've always been a Yamaha guy but I'm hoping to buy this VTX for my wife. These are great looking bikes.

Thanks again.

The seller wants $5000 for the bike. My concern is with the miles. I've never bought a used bike, and I know some people take care of them and some don't. I was thinking $4700 or $4800 was a reasonable price but this guy has to get $5K or no sale. It is the nicest bike I've looked at so far that is in my price range.

Anyway- Thanks for your input. If I end up getting this bike I'll be in here a lot more often.

IMHO 14,000 miles on a 03 is low mileage, my 05 now has over 19,000 miles with zero problems, a friend who rides with us has over 83K miles on his X! dont know about a fair price but to me the mileage would be a plus.
Yeah, I follow but I see quite a few bikes with lots lower mileage going for just slightly more money. I have a 2001 Yammy Roadstar 1600 and I only have about 15,000 on it. The riding season is short up here, though. I'll probably pay the guy $5K. The loose turn signals bug me, though. Thanks.
