Strange hiccup almost died

I was out for a ride and after about 30 miles I came to a red light, and the bike was losing power like I was running out of gas, the RPMs dropped below normal idle, and it was all I could do to keep it from dying. I kept the thing running during the red light and then was able to get going and then after about a minute the problem was over. The rest of the ride was not a problem, but I was wary of it. I had plenty of gas in the tank, so it wasn’t that I was running out, but it seemed like a fuel starvation thing, though it could’ve been electrical? what do you guys think? I know my description is vague, but seemed almost like an injector got clogged or something and it was running on one cylinder for a few seconds.

Sounds like power commander failure.. Or, what the first issues were when these came out. Had the same issue in CO. in 03. Pre Power Commander.
With PC Mine acted like yours for a while, I just did a quick disconnect and found that I needed to pull the unit.

I thought it might have something to do with that power commander. So if it does happen again and I’m stuck on the side of the road, I guess that’s what I should do —pull the seat off disconnect that PC3 and see if she’ll fire up again. Good to know thanks.
