I purchased the Neo style sissy bar, and I encountered a problem. Really its a simple job to install, but the bolts supplied in the kit were all jacked up. At the tip of the bolt where the threads start there was like a ball of metal, almost looks like a crappy little weld on the end of my bolts. (You cannot make stuff like this up, your just gonna have to trust me, it was bad). Make a long story short, I did not notice the bolts were jacked up until I started to thread them into the nuts welded behind the rear fender struts. The bolts very quickly stripped the nuts before I realized they were jacked up bolts. I went back to the dealer, he agreed it was not my fault and he gave me new bolts, he also had the service department re-tap the nut I stripped. Unfortunately, I think I may have stripped more than just the one nut. And this sounds like a good excuse for me to buy a nice tap and die set anyway.
I asked the service guy when he was doing it and he mumbled something about "10 and 1" but I have never heard of that. I have heard of 10-1.5 or 10-1.25.
My question is what are the threads on that bolt/nut?
