I'm desparate here and need some help!!! My stock Dunlop 140/80-17 is history. In trying to purchase another, I find myself like anyone else needing a tire waiting for their strike to end and get some tires to the public. Only Dunlop & Bridgestone make a Bias Ply in this odd size and I have tried to buy either only to find there aren't any out there. So...I'm grounded for now...it sucks....considering Radials but not sure how it will affect the handling characteristics of the bike....anybody that can address this please talk to me.[/b]

you can run a rear tire on the front also I run a metzeler lazertec 140/80/17 rear tire on the front of my 1300s and have had no problems at all even after 5000 miles so far, handles great in every condition [rain, snow, sleet,] not even a slight glitch. I run a 880 170/80/15 on the rear great combo.

Here is a dealer that has the stock Dunlop front tire (404 i believe) in their
inventory.

the Dealer is Star City Motorsports in Lincoln, Ne.

1-800-439-4253

It is like $71.99 plus tax and shipping....but hey....they have them.
