I've been planning to paint my '03 Retro with something akin to the factory two tone paint scheme in something truly 'retro' like a bright red with white on the sides. Unfortunately, I was involved in a hit & run with an unknown cager and damaged both fenders as well as my tank. As both fenders need to be replaced, I'm thinking of going with NEO fenders just for a change. I know this will entail a new rear fender liner and, since I don't want to change my seats/solo rack set up, relocating the rear connection point on the back fender for those. Other than that, I think I should be able to just swap them out.

My question is, does anyone have any pictures of a two tone NEO? I've kind of gotten stuck on the red/white two tone idea but don't know if I can successfully incorporate it into going with NEO fenders on my bike. Any thoughts? Thanks! :D

Well now. You like the Neo? :D Red and white Eh? :D I wonder if you are thinking what I am thinking? If you are? then the undertaker fenders are for you. Just a little cut here and there and you can mount your license plate right into the fender. Because these fenders are fiberglass they are VERY easy to customize. If I knew then what I know now and how easy the fenders were to work with I would have done something cooler that 6 verticle ovals. I like your thinking though.

I actually have a set a OEM fenders from a VTX NEO (actually, from a couple different NEO's). I'm just trying to decide whether to use those or the regular Retro fenders. As I understand it, if I relocate the rear hole in the back fender for the seat attachment then I can use my existing seat and/0r solo rack.

IF I keep both sets of fenders I could have them both painted the same way and even have the option of changing back in another couple years if I'd like yet another 'different' look.

Do you have any other pics of your two tone NEO you could post? Thanks! :D

I am putting clearcoat on a rear neo fender today. This comment about merely drilling a new hole will allow a retro seat to fit? PLEASE provide me some detail as that would save me $$$$ for new Mustang/Ultimate seat. What about the matching nut needed on the inner rail?

Jetmech's bike is truly sweet.. the twotone paint is a great idea with neo tins...

One thing Trent/Jetmech did that was really cool is that the red paint is marbelised (not sure if that's the right term), so it's not just a simple red/white twotone.. Looks a lot better than if the red was just a solid color.

There's no way a picture can do trent's bike justice, even though he has some SWEEETT pics.

Hey OAK I'll trade ya. I LOVE those Runes. I just wish I had the cash to get one. I would just like to ride one. From what I hear they are smooth as glass. Plus your painting skills are WAY and FAR better than what I could do.

Thanks to those that made comments on my bike, but my bike is not perfect. The pics look way better than the real thing I think. Although the marble/suran wrap effect does look cooler in person. When I was painting my bike one of our inspectors came up to me a said "Thats 30 year old technology you have with your paint scheme." I said "EXACTLY!" I like the old school look.
