As you can see I have the Corbin dual tourer. It is unbearably hard after 2000 miles. I'm 5'7" and 225lbs with a 29" inseam. I'm thinking of switching to a 4pc. Ultimate X Lowrider Studded. It seems to me that most everone that has an ultimate loves it. I think I'm already sold, just looking for more info from people that actually own one.

I am also 5'7" and about a 29 to 30 inseam. I have almost 22k on my Ultimate LowRider and would not chnge it for anything. My longest day was about 850 miles and still was able to go for a short run after showering and unpacking. I have an 05 VTX Interstate. 14 months and 22k miles, wouldn't hesitate to go anywhere or any distance with the Ultimate.

I had a Corbin Hollywood Solo, for 4k unforgiving miles. I have an Ultimate X lowrider and am getting ready to turn 28k miles. My longest day was also in the 800 mile range and I go to my brother's a couple of times a year - 700 door to door. I get there, shower and eat, and can go ride with him that night.

To be fair, the Corbin looked better. The Ultimate X is larger, has a lot more padding, and for me the lowrider pushed me forward which took a bit to get used to.

Hands down, I would go back to a stock seat before going back to a Corbin. The Ultimate X seat is a great, comfortable, durable seat.

I have an Ultimate BigBoy. I'm 6'0" and have a 32" inseam. The BB, as advertised, put me an inch up and an inch back. This really improved the legroom and comfort versus the stock seat. I have had a Corbin(a Gunfighter on a Kawasaki Vulcan 800A) and a Mustang wide touring on a Shadow Sabre I had before my 1300R. I didn't mind the Corbin's firmness, but I have never taken an all day ride but have gone 3 - 4 hours at a time. The Mustang's are slightly less firm than a Corbin. I liked the Mustang as well. The Ultimate I have now is the softest of the three. I wish it was a little firmer, but it is still an outstanding seat with which you can ride all day. I didn't want the Mustang for my '06 1300R because they tend to put you up an inch but also move you forward an inch-bad for me because I wanted more legroom. The Mustang may suit you given you height and they are very comfortable. I think the Mustang's and Corbins look better than my Ultimate. I think Ultimates(the BB anyway) look a little too oversized for the bike - not styled as well as the Corbin or Mustang. But I could only get the additional legroom from the Ultimate and it was the best price of the three (I only got the solo. Mustang didn't come solo and Corbins are just too expensive and I think the Corbin solo would be a lower seat height which I didn't want ). If you get the Ultimate I don't think you will be dissatisfied.

I have only about 1000 miles on my Ultimate Lowrider. I think the seat so far is just ok. I had a mustang on my old bike and I liked it better. I still get numb-butt with the Ultimate, but I absolutlely love the backrest. I can ride all day without any back discomfort.

I think the seat will break in with more time and miles in the saddle.

I switched from the Corbin dual tourer to the Ultimate. I don't think you'll ever regret it. I also tried my buddy's Mustang a couple weeks ago and at first I liked it, but after a short trip, it's just not as nice.

You can also sell that Corbin dual for a decent chunk of change to help buy the Ultimate. The Corbin does look and fit better, although hard as heck. Mine never formed to my rear as they claimed it will after so many miles.

I have a 4 piece studded Big Boy that I'm going to sell because I decided to order a Russells Day Long. I have a very sensitive tail bone and the Day Long felt really good when I sat on one. I love the Ultimate and its looks but my flat butt needs just a tad more. I haven't posted it yet but I'm going to sell the four pieces for $600.00 which included shipping and insurance. If you decide to get the Ultimate, I know you'll be happy.

Stupid friggin rain covers :x Always worrying about a drop of water (because there is no plastic under the material to stop the foam from absorbing water) other than that it's just ok after 100 miles --- but my wife loves it!

Got the big boy, passenger and passenger pad last week. (had them prep my seat for possible future driver back rest)The next day took off for the weekend (600 miles). No monkey butt, no complaints from the wife, worth every penny! As a matter of fact a few of my Harley friends that went on this trip sat on the seat and I think I ended up selling like three of them!

I’ve got the hardest (Corbin Young Guns) on my 1800 and the softest (Ultimate Lowrider) on my 1300.… and I like them both…. Let me explain.
I am 5’9”, about 160 lbs with a 30” inseam. The seat needs to fit the rider with the cycle. Take note there will be a big difference between the Ultimate Lowrider and BigBoy even on the same cycle. There is also the Ultimate Midrider to consider if it fits your cycle. The Lowrider fits me well on the 1300. I am very comfortable with it’s height and can easily deal with the thick soft padding. While it does seem to push the rider forward more than the BigBoy, I can deal with that too because I’m a relatively small rider. While the Bigboy sits you back a little, it also sits you higher and the seat is wider. With a 30” inseam, I don’t especially need a taller and wider seat on my 1300 and surely not on the 1800. The Ultimate seat is way more comfortable than the Corbin for long rides. However, I like the Corbin on my 1800 for overall comfort. The Corbin Young Guns seat is narrow and sits me low. That is exactly what I want and need to allow me to handle the top heavy 1800 better. That said... for a really long haul butt wrenching ride... I may be very tempted to put an Ultimate on my 1800.

I bought the Ultimate Big Boy 3 piece last year because of all the positive feedback (dvr, dvr rest, and passenger) and ended up returning it after about 600miles because I just couldn't get use to the rigidity (is this a word?) of the seat--it was too hard for me. I have a very sensitive back (had multiple surgeries), and the top of the BB dvr seat seemed to drive into my lower back at an uncomfortable angle. However, what really helped me was the dvr back rest. It allowed me to relax my back more backwards, and fall into the back of the dvr seat better. But I didn't always want to use the back rest, so I ended up returning the set. The stock just felt better on my back.

Oh, and I'm 6'0, 245lbs. And I also agree with Jim450, the Ultimate did look a little oversized on my 1300R. The seat seemed to spill over into the sides....but Beautiful stitching though and solid construction and both HDL and Ultimate were extremely easy to work with for the return! They simply ask you ride at least 200miles before returning.

So let me just caveat this post with this: I've sat on most the major aftermarket seat makers and have yet to find one my back agrees with...which would probably make my .02 worthless!! :( :( Sorry kido.

I have the Ultimate Big Boy with rider's backrest.....love the back rest...the seat itself did feel better than stock, but I have also since, changed my shocks and springs, and gotten a sheepskin which helps a lot, too......there is no one seat for everyone........might want to look at the BadX mod

A couple of reasons not to get an Ultimate seat. First, their X and ultimate logos come with the seat. I wanted to order one WITHOUT their logo and they told me it was 100% custom that way and no return under any circumstance. Also, if that memory foam or padding inside gets wet then it will mold and rot. It is not waterproof nor does it have a protective plastic layer like the Mustang seat. I know people say they get it wet and its fine, but like any padding it will mold and lose its ability to expand and contract. For these 2 reasons, I decided to go with the mustang seat.

You won't be dissapointed with the mustang, but anything is better than the stocker

I've had both Mustang and Ultimate 4 pc. low rider.
Here's how I see it.

Mustang positives
1. Very comfortable
Mustang negatives
1. The fit to the bike is odd. On the 1300 where the seat meets the tank, it comes to a point exposing the 2 lower corners of the fuel tank.
2. The passenger pillion although very comfortable, it is very thick raising the rider an extra inch or 2 exposing them to head buffeting.

Ultimate positives
1. Fit and overall look is better than the Mustang.
2. You ride in the seat more so than on the seat.
3. Passenger pillion is better for the rider in height and comfort.
4. Back support is better

Ultimate negatives
1. It's not as comfortable as the Mustang. It is harder (stiffer, not as cushioned) as the Mustang. However, I don't get the butt burn like on the stock seat.

I probably won't change back to the Mustang because of the look of the Ultimate. On long trips, the Ultimate requires ME to take a break more so that the Mustang.

This is only my review and opinion....

And as Crew says..opinions vary!

I have the Ultimate BB w/backrest on my 1300R, I like it alot. My back doesn't get crabby, its much more comfy than the stock.
I also have Ultimate seats on my GW, which also are a improvement over the stock. IMHO
