Is anyone aware of any fitment issues with Vance & Hines bigshots for 1800S? I ordered bigshots for an 1800R (retro). I thought the only difference between an 1800R and S were the spoke wheels. The bigshots won't fit. They're not wide enough to fit into the cylinder exhaust.

Bet they are, in that area there is no difference in length between any model. Same engines, same exhaust port locations... try a slightly different angle. I thought the same thing when I was trying to install mine, turns out the way I was trying to put the bracket on kept the pipes too far out away from the swingarm and that's why they wouldn't go in...

They will fit.
You need to set the front first and then the rear while a helper holds the weight near the tail pipe.
Be careful not to scratch anything!

Yeah, they fit. I took mine off to do a tire change. when I went to put 'em back on, I swore up and down that someone came in my garage while I wasn't looking and swapped them out. They wouldn't even come close to going back on.
All that was happening was, I took them off while the bike was on the ground, and tried to put them back on while the bike was up on a stand.
Just goes to show you how tempermental they are.
They're tough, but when you get 'em fenangled into the right spot, they'll go right in.

Yea, it was pretty tough getting them on, especially by myself. I just finished about an hour ago! I just kept playing with it and all of a sudden they front one got past the cylinder fins. It wasn't easy, and the cylinder fins did get scratched a little bit. I just came back from a quick test ride and they sound great!

I did not install any fuel manager or change the air filter. No decel popping or anything! And they look fantastic!
