A couple of months ago I figured out that my GPS (iWay 500C) can display the voltage of the bike, so just for yucks I added it to the display. It has mostly read in the area of 14V while cruising along at normal highway speeds. Last night when I rode to work it was reading 15 - 15.1V pretty much anytime I wasn't sitting still. Same thing this morning on the way home.

If I am reading the shop manual correctly, it looks like I might be OK as long as it reads less than 15.5V. Under the heading of Charging Voltage Inspection (page 16-7 for me) it explains how to check the charging voltage and then offers a formula which reads:
STANDARD
Measured BV < Measured CV < 15.5V
BV=Battery Voltage
CV=Charging Voltage

you might want to see if the battery cables are coming loose
(very common) and that's why its charging all the time.
