Have recieved 3 chrome oil dipsticks (at different times) from "J.C.Whitney Company" specifically for my 2003 1800 Retro and all of them have had the oil level marks in the wrong position! The marks are closer together and the high mark is about a 1/4" lower than it should be. I compared each chrome dipstick with the original stock black dipstick that came with the motorcycle when it was new. With the high mark being a little lower than it should be, this could cause you to overfill the crankcase by possibly a quart or two. Beware or this particular chrome dipstick. I am sure that other companies are selling this same product, so be careful. 8)

I don't trust the after market dip sticks for measuring. I use the chrome one for looks and the stock one for mesuring.

I have the temp dipstick...the mark on it and the stock line up exactly

I also checked it with my "point and shoot" thermometer and found it to be spot on...and it looks good too

I threw one of these on:

http://www.hondadirectlineusa.com/store ... =927358327

It serves a function and, in my opinion, looks nicer than any chrome dipstick I've seen to date. I did compare and double check the oil level indication lines on this produck with my original stick and they matched nicely!

Enjoy,
Brian
