7 months. $1,500 over budget and some stress due to a flaky painter. But she’s done finally.

Mate this is stunning there’s nothing on this bike I don’t like, love the paint the only other thing I would do is a 8 degree rake on the forks, is your rear tyre 200 mm only it looks bigger in the picture, I’ve got a mint 2008 vtx-1800 f1 that’s pretty mint but wanted to do a full custom job on but I can’t get the bits I need in the uk View attachment 203837

rear is a 240. rake kit isn't an option with the fat fork tubes I have. prefer the fat fork covers over the rake.

2005 1800 F2

I can make a list, and list some of the parts, but there are many that are one-offs that I made myself or had made for me. no links to provide.

There are also a lot of parts that are no longer made, stuff I bought back in 2005-2007 and the companies have gone out of business or discontinued VTX parts.
thnx for responding, I was afraid the parts being no longer made was going to be an issue :( however that just means I will have to get creative :) I currently have a 2003 VTX1300S and rolling couch (2009 royal star venture)
I was originally going to get rid of the VTX but I'm going to use it as my test subject for my painting and fabrication learning process.

no cross over tube.

CA has a funny law, if you have any type of extremity replacement or amputation you are required to have disabled plates on all your registered vehicles. I also have the parking plaque to use when I am a passenger, but all vehicles registered to me have to have the plates.

replacement knee and hip from a motorcycle accident in 2001.

Even the people at the DMV said they had never seen a motorcycle disabled plate before, or even knew how to issue one when I had to get it replaced after the accident last October. I've had that since I got the bike in 2005.

would personally prefer the newer Black CA plates to match the ride, but. I can't get one due to my injuries.
There's an HP plated bike at the local campus. Even parks in the HP spot, which makes me chuckle (I don't know why).
My VTX caught on fire about a month ago. But anyway I got on here to ask people if I should build mine into a bobber or what?? Man as soon as I opened up the Forum your badass bike is on here!!!! Nice job!!!! The ONLY thing I can say I would change is the foot pegs.. But man it's one of the NICEST bikes I have seen!! Hands down!!!!

pegs are not really an option at this point. those are Supreme Legends forward controls and Supreme Legends went out of business during covid. as far as I can tell they used proprietary peg mounts. I have tried several styles, and nothing properly fits or works.

They are "supposed" to be Harley pegs mounts, but that leaves a wide-open door, because as far as I can tell depending on the year and model the peg mount points are different. I have found several knock off Supreme Legends controls on ebay and alibaba, I purchased a set for a Dyna so I would have some spare parts (Master Cylinder, shifter arm, brake arms etc) because they are all the same parts, only difference is the mounting bracket, and those pegs will work but they are all the same design/style as what I have.

I used to have Kuryakyn Switchblade pegs, which are really comfortable, but again, don't fit.
Dont ever leave it parked where you cant see it.

rarely ever do, however if it happens, it has 2 different GPS tracking modules on it, keyless ignition and electronic disabler on it, and a module that sends an alert to my phone if it is messed with, moved, or started..

Yes sir!! Keep her safe!!!! Beautiful bike!! I understand about what you mean about the pegs!! I am not saying I could do any better!!!! It's just a well done bike.. It seems like it should have more of something for you the rider for comfort and style at the bottom.. But I completely understand what you said!! I am about to start cutting on mine!! I HAVE to do something to her!!!! Just so blah and boring!!!!

these pegs are actually very comfortable. personally, like having something to rest my heel on, but not a fan of floorboards, hence the use of stir-ups/switchblade pegs. . . But I have done 200+ miles twice with these and no issue, they are in a perfect position for me, and work well.
