When I do a search, I get anything and everything.

I click on search and type in a subject such as brake pads. I get a lot of posts that have nothing at all to do with brake pads. It doesn't matter what subject I search, I get the same results.

Is there a way to narrow down the search to only include what I'm searching for?

Any help please?

+1 I try and do like the search gurus say but most of the time the results are the same as yours, the only time Ive had good luck was if it was a popular subject. :lol: Good luck on this one.

make sure to check the box for all words and if you pick a forum to search that will help a little bit.

still it will pick threads that may not be everything and then you just have to filter by thread title. IF everyone used exact subjects on the posts owuld be much easier but a little late for that.

I did a search for "THE DARK SIDE" and got results on lights, oil, seats, everything.

Ya, it's kinda goofy, but my 2 biggest gripes are:

1) I get results because people have something i'm looking for in their signature. It could be a topic about Women's naked coleslaw wrestling, but i'll get it when i put in "Mustang Seat" because someone has it in their sig.

2) It won't let me navigate beyond page 1. Every time i try to go to the next page i get an error.

I think the biggest thing to realize is that you can't search by terms. Like you can search for "Pair valve" but it will find all posts with "pair" and any posts with "valve" in it. You could try "Pair AND valve" which will probably get you better hits, but if anyone typed in something like "I put a new pair of valve stems in while i was changing tires", you'd get that post, too.

It's just the nature of the beast.

Woops, i failed to address people's issues.

Apache, do a search for "brake and pads". That should get you better results. If you are looking for brands, you can try "brake and pads and brand". If you're wondering about changing, "brake and pads and chang*". I used the asterisk so it will include change, changed, and changing.

Speedsville, you need to include AND's, too. Also don't use "the" because every single post will have it in it. I'd try "dark and side or darkside". I concatenated it because some people make it one word.

what Moekazi says! if your searching for something seperate all the words with AND. "changing and brake and pads"
or "replacing and brake and pads" etc!
keeps you from getting 100,s of responses.

Don't use the Search bar next to Frappr Photos and Google Search. Click on the search link above that and you will be better off.

I used the word "and" in between each word leading to what I was looking for and it worked perfect!
