My wife and I really want a new seat for the long rides. I've read about the models of the Ultimate seat offers but I'm a little confused on which one would suit me best. If your tall and fat get the Bigboy and if you short and thin get the low rider. Well I'm short and fat so I don't know which one would be better. I'm 5'-9" and 280lbs. I have a 29" inseam. I also have C risers on my 1800 Retro. My plan is to get the two piece seat from Hal during this sale but before paying that much money I'd appreciate whatever input I can get.

Thanks in advance

You could always call Ultimate directly and see what they recommend for your height/weight. Then place your order with HDL to take advantage of the sale price. Even when you do order with HDL, Ultimate will be calling you to confirm your order and inquire about inseem, height, weight, etc.

Yeah, what RARVTX said, give them a call and they will help you decide that best fit for you.

XMainer, I am also about 5'10" @ 280 Lbs. I have the Four Piece Bigboy from Ultimate. I was not at first very comfortable on it, but after a couple of hundred miles it now is excelent, even the wife says so also. Des at Ultimate does mention to give it a couple hundred miles. Thats my two cents worth, much nicer than anything I have ever had. :D :D

Just so you know, I went thru HDL to buy it and saved a little change :pepper1: :pepper1: :pepper1: :pepper1: :pepper1:

I am 290 with 30" inseam and I have fairly short arms.
I bought the BigBoy.
The seat sits great!
It did make me sit a little higher and back from the tank.
I can still touch the ground, no problem.
The riding posture is different, in that my knees are not bent as much
and I raised my handle bars, so as not to have to reach for them...
The bottom line for me is, the seat is very comfortable and a good choice.
The back rest is great for long rides, but not necessary for me on short trips. I would suggest you get the back rest too...

Get the Bigboy and don't look twice. I'm about that size and I've got the 4 pc. and it is great for me and my wife.
