Hello guys/gals,

which cleaning solution to use to clean windshield???

Someone told me not to use windex because of amonia, but my wife found another windex cleaner without amonia.

They told me not to use rainx either.

Now am curious which cleaner to use for windshield???

Any idea??
Advice??

Very sincerely,

Dino

I've used a spray and polish cleaner, the same stuff you can use on your bike to clean her up with good results. I was at a bud's house and we used pledge, which he was told to use on his bass boat windshield. It worked even better. Also, don't clean it in a circle motion use up and down strokes or you'll make swirl marks. I was also told that you can use a wax after it is cleaned and it makes the next cleaning easier. I haven't tried this yet, but heard it works.

If you have a lot of bugs on it, place a warm wet towel over it and let it soften the debris then wipe it off. Use one direction when wiping. I use the Honda spray cleaner on everything on the bike including the windshield.

Same thing here, I used Plexus on windshields, helmet visors, etc, and Honda Spray Polish on everything else.

Yes, don't use a product made for GLASS, it will ruin your Plastic/Lexan shield over time.

I tried several products, but Plexus is the best for windshield, lights, and helmet visor.

Simple Green

I use Simple Green on the whole bike. Plastic, chrome, windshield, paint, everything.
Last week when I was done with the windshield I hit it with a coat of Turtle Wax Ice. On the label it says NOT FOR GLASS. It worked pretty nice on the windshield though.
Simple Green is great for bugs too, spray on, wipe off.

Plexus on the shield .. Honda spray cleaner/polish on everything else.

"Suzuki Motorcycle Wash" on the whole bike every so often ... spray it on, let it sit for a couple of minutes then rinse with the water hose, super stuff. Blow-dry it with the leaf-blower.
