Here's my $.02.......100% satisfied. Coupled with my 205-60/16 Falken CT, I'm getting actual mph and not "Honda" mph. My MPG on highways is a solid 40mpg at 65mph. There's a definite audible/tangible difference in the engine vibrations going from 4th to 5th on the highway, before I converted I kept upshifting for the proverbial 6th gear, simply put I can now hear/feel the drop upshifting from 4th to 5th. Hole shots are superb, again coupled with my CT makes for a very fast combination, however the mpg does suffer considerably due to my heavy twist on the throttle, which suffered before I had the 1300 gearing. Showtime deserves the credit for my 1300 gear set conversion. thanks Show!

Love mine, like others said, I now have actual speed displayed on my speedo. Acelleration did not suffer according to my 175 pound butt dyno. I also used to try and get 6th gear. Now, I do not. The bike absolutely loves to cruise at 65-70. It is so much smoother and quieter than before. I have sideburners so 10% less RPM is a plus at speed.

My only dislike is today I did a PG ride. Two 25 mile cruises at 20-25 MPH. The guy next to me on his 1800 was in the bottom of 3rd gear. I had to run 2nd gear becasue 3rd would lug too bad. We here in KS ride quiet and respectful during PG missions. I still would not change back. Thanks again Showtime.

I don't think you would like it! In fact, I'm sure you won't. Don't waste your time and effort in trying it out! Just ship it to me now and I'll send you my 1800 drive for no charge. In fact, I feel so bad for you I'll pay the freight for both units, but whatever you do, ship it now! Don't try it first!

I love mine with a pipe that makes good low end torque. I can "putt" at 50mph in 5th without lugging too much. My indicated mileage is about the same when riding hard but the mileage is now much closer to accurrate. If i ride very easy i can get 2-4 more indicated mpg. Since the speedo was already off the "true" mpg increase is more than it appears.

As far as performance, my favorite part is rapping out 3rd gear. You can now do a true 90-93mph+ before hitting the rev limiter. I like to stay off the redline at higher speeds but mine has indicated that speed before i shifted. Topend did not suffer both still pull strong to an indicated 135mph+.

Then slamming into 4th at a true 90mph is a rush too. Well tuned the performance does not seem to suffer. I am in "no way" saying it will make a better time on the strip.

The main reason though isnt any of the above. The 1300 set just seems to put the 1800 at a better street cruiser rpm range in all gears. The pull (torque) feels more linear in each gear. I actually feel less low rpm surging too but it could be the SuperTrapp 2into1 that replaced my Jardines.

Definitely like mine and would not think twice about doing it again. I have put over 3000 miles on since Show did mine. I do alot of open road riding, mostly two up, and really love the way it improved its road manners. No longer do I try and find sixth gear!. I don't race and seldom run over 100 mph so I can't tell you how it compares to the former ratio, but I am very happy with it now. Didn't take long to get used to it either.

You guys aren't helping me out here at all! How do you expect me to convince him to send it to me if you keep telling him how good it is?

Bill, get your gear set in hand, and ship your drive to me this Nov 1, or, keep an watchful eye on the 1800 classified board in about 1 months time frame.................................

And as always guys, thanks for the kudos on the swap outs. It always give me a smile when I read the feedback, but more importantly reading your change experiences and being transformed so to speak, gives the new guys the ammo to pull the trigger...................I know I am a believer and wont even entertain the idea of going back..........!

Show, That's when your going to start selling 1300 final drives again, in about a month? I am going to get one this year.

Excellent addition to the X. It makes first gear actually useable for more than a split second and gives 5th gear the longer legs it needs for interstate cruising at 70+...SC

I want to get the 1300 gears this year too after reading all the outstanding reviews! Are they difficult to change? Is there a "how to" available online to do so?

One of best Mods I have done, ShowTime sold me mine, he is a stand up dude, you can't go wrong getting one from him. I think Honda made a mistake with our bikes and showTime fixed it.

Gas Mileage has never been a big issue with me, 32-34 which is low, but I blame it on my wrist, it moves around a lot. but when you get out on the open road you don't feel like shifting it into 6th, around town 4th is about has high as I go. Maybe I can find a good Dyno tunner in the Louisville/Lexington area.

Keep it between the lines, enjoy the 4th of July

I've put about 4,000 miles on my 1300 drive. I've been very please with how my 1800 responds to the 1300 gears. I just returned from the Hoot which was about 2,000 miles total. I was pulling a loaded trailer almost all of the time. I couldn't feel any real difference pulling the trailer than from when I pulled my trailer with my 1800 gears. Show also set my gears up for me and was very professional throughout the entire process. I can see no reason to return to my 1800 gears. JMHO

Make that two mistakes Honda made and Show has fixed....You should try the MTC clutch with his shims!!!! Hold the [email protected]%^~!$% on! Show (Steve) is a wiz when it comes to the VTX! (Thanks Steve)

BTW-----LOVE my 1300 drive. 5000 miles on mine now and it couldn't be better! 1st still takes off, 2nd (Now with the MTC) pulls the front wheel off the ground. 5th purrs like a kitten on the highway.

Just ran into a buddy of mine that buys and sells bikes for a living and just what he has.....VTX! He built his though, 130hp and 140 tourqe! WOW!

+1 for Showtime's 1300 gears.
I swapped mine out in May (actually Bare installed it - I just bought it) before going up to North Carolina for a 2500 mile round trip that included the Dragon, Cherohola, Blue Ridge National Forest, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I could definitely tell that the gear ratio was changed - had to use more brake downshifting around the twisties, but it was manageable.
I hung on to my 1800 unit "just in case" I wanted to swap back - but I'm a believer now and I'll be sending my "core" in to Showtime so he can make another one.
