I have a 2002 1800C. I was curious as to what it would take to put a wider read tire on, say some where in the 200-220 range. I am new to the VTX cycle, but have seen a few wide rears on the net. Any info would be greatly appriciated. Cost, links to parts, etc... Thank you in advance

Welcome to the board!
Bookmark this website, http://tech.vtxoa.com This is the sister site to this message board and contains all your How-to/Tips/Tricks/Why’s and links to other helpful sites for your new VTX.
There is also a helpful red Search icon at the top of every page(not the Google search). Enter your item to be searched in the "Search Query" section and click the "Search for all terms" bullet under the query. Then go to the "Search Options" section and choose a board from the "Forum" drop down menu. This will limit the results to your search so you won't get pages of "Fluff" .

The pupose of the "Search" is to offer a member the opportunity to research his/her question better. There is so much information from past threads that you may never see because that member is no longer here, or doesn't see your new post, or just won't respond to the same question. So use it to your advantage and enjoy the board! View this funny and informative film about posting and searching…

Also, take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the forum. At the top of every board there are threads that are tagged as "Sticky" These threads are "Sticky" because they contain very important/valuable information about the VTX and everyone should read them.
The thread at the top of the 1800 tech board called, "Air, Fuel, Motors..." will answer most of the performance questions...

Without doing any modifications to the swingarm/driveshaft a 200 tire will go on the stock rim. Anything above 200 will require something to be cut&welded. Handler has a 210 kit that takes a stock wheel and makes it wider&bigger diameter to accept a 210 tire. http://www.gatewayxtreme.com/

After that now you're talking swingarm/driveshaft modification, fenders and seats. Some of those kits can be seen here on this sites sponsor HondaDirectLine or HDL(red banner at the top of the page)

Baffeled at the info

Like I said i am new to the VTX world, and WOW!!! Seems you can pretty much walk down to the local 7-11 and get parts for these things. I haven't had much trouble finding accents, and with a group like you guys, custom parts seem pretty easy to come by as well.

I couldn't be more happy to be a VTX owner. You guys are awsome. Thanks for all the responses. Looks like I may have to empty out the rainy day stash from the sock drawr to get this done. Awsome. Simply awsome
