I bought this bike back in the fall. Only 1400 miles! Cobra Speedster Slashdown exhaust with quiet baffles. Guy I bought it from said it had been Dyno jetted. Only other modification that I have found so far is the vent line off of the carb is cut and plugged on both ends. The rest of the lines (both t-fittings, line to the PAIR valve, and to the fuel valve) are all connected.
The current issue is it feels like the pipes are super hot and I am getting decel backfire as soon as I let off the gas. Plugs were fouled so I just replaced them. I was also getting lots of backfire on accel but I put in Glen's permanent A/F screw and adjusted to 2 turns and this seems to have gone away.
What kind of modification did they do/ attempt to do with the vent hose? Is that giving me problems?
I have read that wrapping the first foot of the pipes may help with the heat (melting my side cover). Also, any thoughts on the desmog mod? Benefits/drawbacks? Any chance I am running lean now?
