I'm putting harley Hardbags on my 1800R. I have one from an 07 StreetGlide. My ? is this. Are the Harley Hardbags interchangable between diferent models and years? example- 07 streetglide on the left is the same looking bag as a 05 FLHT on the right side of the bike. Thanks

If you examine the interior of Harley hard saddlebags taken from
a Harley ElectraGlide, UltraGlide or Street Glide,
they are indented almost in the middle of the bag
where they are meant to wrap around the shock absorber on the Harley.

The saddlebags on Road Glides are meant to be mounted behind
the chrome plated shock absorber and do not have the
indentation which steals away so much of the interior space
of the saddlebags.

You can find a pair of aftermarket saddlebags that look like Harley bags
that do not have the indentation and will be easier to fit to your bike.

Tsukayu makes a Patrol bag that looks like a Harley bag.
Also Hardbags.com makes a bag like that.
Sumax in Oriskany NY also makes Harley dresser saddlebags.
You can also find early or late 1970s Harley saddlebags that do not have that
indentation, but they are very skinny, too skinny to fit a half helmet inside.
I know, I had a set on my bike for a couple of months.
