I am investigating the quiet baffles vs. the thunder monster baffles. I was wondering if anyone had either of these installed on vance and hines bigshots cause I would love to hear them. I've heard thunder monsters are louder and obviously quiets are quiter but I would like to see to what degree and how much deeper the sound is vs. mine. Also, what kind of performance gains have you experience if you have these? Thanks a lot.

Two total different baffles and two total different sounds. apples and oranges.

Monsters are throaty and L O U D - I have them and love them. I think vtxraider both has them in Omaha.

Quiets have moderate volume (not quite per se) and a nice deep rumble. Sound wise these probably have a nicer tone, but they're probably 2/3rds the volume of the Monsters. They also make a touch better low end power. Any Retro with V&H has them. (they come with the Retro pipes)

I've gone the opposite route. The 1800C I just bought has Big Shots with the Thunder City baffles that are waaay too loud for me. I got the V&H quiet baffles and am swapping this weekend. The TC baffles are just a sheet metal tube necked down a bit in the middle. IMO not really a baffle at all, rolling off the throttle gives you loud burping & farting that make me tone deaf after a while.

I have the Cobra Angled Slashcuts with the V&H quiet baffles. The quiet baffles didn't really make my Cobra's any quieter, but that did make the sound a little deeper and it took out the "tinny" (for lack of a better word) blaht sound. I like the combination.

My old Shadow had long shotgun pipes with no baffles. I could barely coast into my neighborhood after dark without waking people up. My friends refused to right behind me on the right side. Now, with this setup, my pipes only get real loud when I want them to.
