I have an 05 R and with 700 miles on it I saw antifreeze on the case on the left side. Took it to the Honda dealer and he said that was just the way it was, they all do it. But shouldn't be going all over the bike, should be going out the overflow tube if it burps some out. Anyway took it to another Honda dealer and they found a hose clamp leaking.

Coolant leaks

Have 3 vtx's here, 2 1800r's ('03) and an '05 1300R ALL 3 have the same commom "problem", they puke anti-freeze. Don't need to have been ridden, just temperature changes cause them to throw up. All are from tank overflows. There were a few leaks at hose clamps back when they were born, and after correcting those myself, they have all 3 been prone to overflow leaking. I just maintain the levels between the marks and wonder why an outfit as big as HMC can't resolve the problem. Throttle down!!

Coolant leak

Guess I'm lucky. 05 1800R has no visable leaks. It has had a coolant smell for a while. I took it to one dealer for repair. He added stop leak without my OK. Fixed it for a while. Then it came back (the odor). I took it to a different dealer after complaining to Honda Cust Service. That dealer found that one of the stock shroud screws was slightly too long and poked a hole in the top tank. Should be getting it replaced next week.

Collant leak

My 2004 1800N started leaking just after the warranty ran out. I had it fixed at the stealers, It was an o-ring on the water pump, around $100. About a week later I started smelling anti-freeze again, no leaks or stains found just the smell.

I made a post about where to watch for when buying a X, VTXCRZR came with one point (amongst others) where I needed to watch out for, which was :
2) In the 2003 VTX many people experienced a coolant leak. This was due to improper tightening at the factory of the hose clamps at the point where they connected to the engine and to the radiator. I experienced this and tightened the hose clamps and have not had a problem since.

hope this helps.
